James

Hello

My name is James Purple, and as you may know, my dad suffers from MND. I have recently took part in a couple of fundraising events. Earlier in the year I participated in an abseil off the Malmaison Hotel, I managed to raise around the region of £80.00.

My most recent fundraiser was the Junior Great North Run, which I did in 20 minutes (which I’m quite pleased with!) and for that I raised £60.00. And I’m looking forward to any other challenge the trust throws my way!

A brief history on George (Biggles) Scott

George was a serving Police Officer for 34 years with the Metropolitan Police. He worked with PC Keith Blakelock and was on duty the night he was killed.

George moved to the North East of England with wife Mary when he retired, he's an avid Newcastle United FC fan.

George was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease over 2 years ago and was at the time given 4 months to live. He is still with us, and is a very popular member at the Drop In Centre run by the North East Motor Neurone Disease Trust.

George was recently honoured by the Police Airborne Support Unit when he visited their operations unit at Newcastle Airport, and was later taken on a helicopter ride by Marky Mark of Metro Radio fame.
