George was a serving Police
Officer for 34 years with the Metropolitan Police. He worked with PC Keith
Blakelock and was on duty the night he was killed.
George moved to the North East of England with wife Mary when he retired,
he's an avid Newcastle United FC fan.
George was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease over 2 years ago and
was
at the time given 4 months to live. He is still with us, and is a very popular
member
at
the
Drop
In Centre run by the North East
Motor
Neurone Disease Trust.
George was recently honoured by the Police Airborne Support Unit when
he visited their operations unit at Newcastle Airport, and was later taken
on
a helicopter ride by Marky Mark of Metro Radio fame.
